Modoolo

Privacy Policy

Last updated: May 2026

Modoolo is a mobile puzzle game by schnaq GmbH. We take your privacy seriously and collect as little data as possible. This page explains what data is collected and how it is used.

Data Controller

The data controller responsible for data processing in connection with Modoolo is schnaq GmbH, Düsseldorf, Germany. Full contact details and registration information can be found in our legal notice (Impressum). You can reach us at apps@schnaq.com

Legal Basis

We process data on the basis of our legitimate interest in improving the game (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). Level uploads are processed on the basis of your action of publishing a level (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR).

Analytics

We use PostHog to collect anonymous analytics events. We send events at key gameplay moments — for example app launch, completed levels, and finished chapters — each tagged with your anonymous user ID. These events are not linked to your name, email, or any personal information.

User Identification

Each installation of Modoolo is assigned a randomly generated ID. This ID is used solely to distinguish between different app installations for analytics purposes. It is not linked to your identity and cannot be used to identify you personally.

Level Uploads

When you publish a level to the Level Hub, the following data is sent to our server:

  • The level data (layout, configuration)
  • The date of upload
  • Your random user ID

Level names are generated randomly by the app. No user-provided text is collected through level names.

No Third-Party Tracking or Ads

Modoolo does not use Google Analytics, advertising SDKs, or any other third-party tracking services. There are no ads in the game.

Data Storage and Location

Analytics events are processed by PostHog on servers in the EU. Level data is stored on servers operated by schnaq GmbH in the EU.

Data Retention

Analytics events are retained as long as needed to improve the game. Uploaded levels remain stored as long as they are published in the Level Hub. You can request deletion of your data at any time by contacting us.

Your Rights

Under the GDPR, you have the right to access, rectification, erasure, data portability, and objection. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at apps@schnaq.com — for example, we can delete your random user ID and all associated analytics data. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority — in Germany, this is the data protection authority (Landesdatenschutzbeauftragte) of your federal state.

Delete Your Data

Modoolo stores your data only locally on your device and sends anonymous analytics events to PostHog. To delete your data: open the app → Settings → "Reset Data". This deletes your random user ID and previous analytics events can no longer be linked to you.
